Fashion, especially petite style, lives and dies by the image. A silhouette, a hem length, a way a blazer sits on a smaller frame, these things communicate faster than any paragraph of text ever could. LittleFigure.com depends on strong visuals to do its job well, and that means LittleFigure.com also carries a real responsibility to the people who make those visuals possible.
LittleFigure.com believes, in good faith, that every image published on this site complies with fair use principles or falls under public domain status. There is no intention anywhere on LittleFigure.com to infringe on the rights of any photographer, illustrator, brand, or creator. If that ever turns out not to be the case for a specific image, LittleFigure.com wants to know, and wants to fix it fast.
Where the Images on LittleFigure.com Come From
Petite fashion content pulls from more image sources than most niches realize, and LittleFigure.com wants to be upfront about all of them.
Paid stock photography. A large share of the outfit and styling imagery on LittleFigure.com comes from licensed stock libraries, including Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Depositphotos, and iStock. These images are used according to the specific license terms each platform provides, whether that is a standard or extended commercial license.
Creative Commons images. LittleFigure.com also draws from Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay for lifestyle and lookbook-style photography. Where a Creative Commons license requires attribution (such as CC BY), LittleFigure.com honors that requirement in full.
Original photography. Some outfit breakdowns and style guides on LittleFigure.com feature original photography shot specifically for the site. These images belong to LittleFigure.com outright.
Brand, editorial, and press images. Because petite fashion coverage often involves reviewing specific brands, garments, or seasonal collections, LittleFigure.com sometimes uses product or press images in an editorial context. This kind of use, commentary, review, or comparison, generally falls under fair use, and LittleFigure.com credits the original brand or photographer wherever that is required.
Public domain images. On occasion, LittleFigure.com pulls historical fashion imagery or archival references from sources like Wikimedia Commons or the Smithsonian Open Access collection, particularly for pieces that look back at petite style through different eras.
Reader and collaborator submissions. When readers or petite style collaborators send in their own photos for a feature or roundup, LittleFigure.com only publishes them with that person’s direct permission.
